I used coarse sugar (raw or sanding sugar) for that chunky, exfoliating texture — and let’s be honest, it just looks adorable in the jar too.

• 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (like raw or sanding sugar)

• 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil

• 1 drop of food-safe red or coral food coloring (optional for the tint)

• A drop or two of orange or grapefruit essential oil (or vanilla if you like sweet!)

1. Mix the sugar and coconut oil in a small bowl until you get a soft paste.
2. Add your essential oil and optional food coloring — a tiny drop goes a long way!
3. Stir well and spoon into a small clean jar with a lid.

Use a little to gently scrub lips in circular motions, then wipe off with a warm washcloth. Follow up with a balm or gloss — done!
